The Buffalo Prenatal-Perinatal Network is one of
16 Comprehensive Prenatal-Perinatal Service Networks in New York
State. Established in 1987, it is one of the original five Networks
created. The Buffalo Prenatal-Perinatal Network provides support
for all of the additional programs and services under its administration.

Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies, Helpful Hints
The BPPN – Network program has completed the development and publication of its consumer education booklet entitled “Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies, Helpful Hints”. The fourteen page guide book contains information about a variety of maternal child health related subjects and some services for women of child bearing age residing in Erie County.

The Buffalo Prenatal-Perinatal Network is a not-for-profit community based organization. The mission of The Buffalo Prenatal-Perinatal Network is to work with health and human service providers and consumers to develop and implement efforts that focus on improving birth outcomes especially for populations who are at risk of poor outcomes.
- Quarterly consortium meetings, which provide professional
education and information sharing for maternal child healthcare
and human service providers.
- Data collection and review to track trends in infant mortality,
birth weights and other health indicators in the target populations.
- Professional education, conferences and training opportunities
for maternal/child healthcare and human service providers, such
as smoking cessation in pregnancy and HIV testing protocols.
- Development of innovative programs and pilot projects to address
the specific needs of our community.
- Providing information and resource directories for assisting
